Just installed a roller cam in my 511 and using a stock chain cover. Which cam button should i use?

None or nylon. Plenty of debate.
The cam “shouldn’t” move forward

I use the Comp Cams nylon one. You'll have to carve on it a little to get the fitment correct but it works great.

Didn't know you could go without on a BB with Roller. I guess the chain would hold it from moving.

I used Comp chain and button in mine. There is a slight witness mark on the inside of my steel cover. Birdtracker

What holds the cam button in? Is it a press fit?

the button sits in the recess between the 3 bolts, it can't fall out once the cover is bolted on. Should have .005-,010 clearance.

I just turn oout a button out of aluminum on my lathe, that fits, seems like everyone I buy for a mopar does not fit right, or is the length is wrong. And I never tried it on a mopar, but I know for a fact that on small block chevy's and ford's if you leave out the thrust button on a roller, major engine damage does happen, fixed a couple in my time.

Yes, i used to run small blocks. They have a cam plate that limits cam movement. Big Blocks don't have that. I measured the center hole in the cam gear. It measures .736", will i need a special button to fit?

All of the Hemi engines they built probably had a mechanical fuel injection pump driven by the gear drive. The hub for driving the pump was bolted onto the cam gear right where you would put a cam button. Iirc there were shims between that hub and the round cover to control cam thrust. Therefore a traditional cam button was not only impossible but also unneeded. The pump drive and gear drive cover served the same purpose.
I have not had one of these apart for 45 years so I may have missed some detail but you get the drift. Injected engines would not/could not use a traditional cam button and didn't need one. Everybody else does.
