The Barton's have the advantage of not having to take the whole assembly apart when changing a spring, They both cost about the same and apparently they both work well for street or strip. I went with the Barton's.

It has been several years since I inquired about the weight, but when I did I learned that the base plate for the T&d / Barton system is very heavy. The stage v is lighter.

Weekend driving only with an occasional T&T day. RPM under 7000. I currently have the Bartons, but i have to do quite a bit massaging to the plate to get it to fit. The Stage v is a direct bolt on and conventional rocker shaft oiling.

I'm gonna be making a tool to change springs with the head ect. on the block.

Is the plate aluminum or steel?

I could be off, but I seem to remember those Bartons weighing 12# more than stage V. But I can't remeber if that was total or per side?

All the systems come with aluminum base plates. There is an optional steel base plate if you have 1" lift or want to weld supports etc.. We have sold over 800 sets in 21 years with no real failures. Some people have 30,000 miles on them. I have recently seen a few heads that had the spark plug position slightly relocated. I had offered to CNC modify the base plates at no charge, but never heard any more about it. The system is designed to fit most heads with no modifications, but won't fit stock valve covers.

On the motor in a friends car that I help with he has these rockers from RB with spray bars. The complete set up is great and easy to work on. This car is a race car and this set up is one of the first that likely Ray did. One other Hemi that we race with broke a rocker and it is not a fun job at the track taking every thing apart to change a spring. Try the grille, rad just for starters because you have to slide the shaft for the rockers out completely out. If you do not make the hemi work hard most rockers will work for ever. Not sure if RB sell the spray bars but I like that application on a race motor but you have to make sure thing are clean and nothing gets plugged. The set up in the picture takes less Maintenance for each rocker set.

My plates are steel and weight about 10# each. Yes Ray did offer to machine my plates because of the offset plug holes, but there is more to it than that. My head is a custom stage V head specifically for FHO, looks like a Millenium head on top, but is not. It has some kind of stiffening ribs on top that the plate sets on, preventing the rocker plate from setting down flat on the head. A lot of grinding and a big price reduction if i ever decide to resale used. Gonna put them on the shelf for later if i change my mine about the Stage v rockers. I didnt understand that Ray was offering this machining for free. How often is Hemi and free used in the same sentence? I appreciate the offer Ray, but there will be more machining than just the spark plug holes. I was under the understanding that the rockers get splash oiled and you dont get enough splash til your really spinning it, so idling in traffic might be a problem. This Ray Barton rocker set looks very robust with great geometry. Not sure how much performance will be lost with the Stage V set.

I have the RBRE rocker system on my street Hemi. I like everything about them.

I think those rockers are simply badass, the best. Your spark plug holes look to line up perfectly from what i can see. They are not such a good match for my Custom Stage V's. I hate the idea of machining and clearancing that plate to get it to fit my heads. The price on these will continue to increase along with all other product, when i resale in a year or two i'll get my money back. Ray told me that spray bar really wasn't needed, only in mild street apps. Thanks for the pic.
