What is the consensus. Have the manufacturer perform all the machining, or send the block to a machine shop of your choice to finish?

I had Indy do my first block but was wondering what every one else does.

On mine, I prefer to finish the bore locally so we can fit the pistons real close.

I had my KB finish machine by FHO so I could deal with one shop on both issues, new block and finish machining.
I had Bulldog do all the finishing machining needed for the same reason up work
I will have the piston maker match the bores on the blocks plus .0005 more up work grin

KB did the machining on my block. They did a good job on it, but that was in 2006. Now it may be a completely different story.

I have a World block that I had my local machinist go over. It wasn't bad, it was only rough bored. Fresh bores and fresh line hone after replacing the junk fasteners and all is well.
