I've been running the same 8896 /1050 which Dwayne had modified years ago. cars best 9.00 . The carb was swapped for a new gen3 /1150 !. Idle tuning took some getting used to with this new design the added air bleed in the center. the car was dead consistent always. so here's my story!


Finally got out last night for the second time. 1st time the car did lots of weird stuff . After the burn out the motor was loaded up and wanted to stall. cleaned it out several times . Comin off the brake at launch 3 individual sputters 1.44 60 ft. felt like you shut the hose off 3 times in a row! fuel related I'm sure. still went 9 40 145 . I removed the power valve and jetted same as old carb. 7 weeks later back to track. same issue not as bad after burn out, less engine loading up ! the 60 ft was off from track conditions1.34 60ft 9.11 146 . still don't like the engine loading up after burn out . hoping the carb guys can help explain what might be going on. I would add the old carb, I could start the car from just reaching in and pushing the button not this one !

For 1, I never use the bypass air feature not needed at least in my world and 2nd, you can't jet an 1150 the same as a 1050 which has zero to do with idle but just saying. The whole calibration needs some attention and I can help ya if needed.....760-900-3895.....
