900 King Demon Vacuum Ports - 08/10/21 02:22 PM

I am helping a friend tune and do some maintenance on his '66 Belvidere. He runs a solid-cammed 440 with an M1 and a King Demon Carb. He said it's a 900, but I'm guessing it's a 950. He had some issues with the breathers pushing oil. He did not run a PCV valve. I ordered one, but I do not see a vacuum port at the back of the carb to plug into. Does this carb have one? Thank you in advance.

A “king demon” is a 4500 series carb.

They don’t usually have vacuum ports.

You’re there working on the car....... the carb either has a big vacuum port, or it doesn’t.

I guess you could drill and tap the manifold for a vacuum port if you need one.

Dwayne, I'm not there now, but I was last night. I never worked on a Demon. Thought it would have the large bung on back like a Holley, but nothing. Was searching the web, and found a diagram that shows there is one on the series below his. Guess we'll have to port the manifold. Any other way, other than a vacuum pump to get the pressure out of the crankcase?

The only way I know of to get rid of excessive crankcase pressure is to find and fix the problem causing the pressure scope
Bad rings, damaged cylinder walls, damaged pistons and so on wrench
