Dana 60 oil seal? - 04/25/21 03:50 PM

Dana 60 was gave to me and needs oil seals in the axle tubes 481837 is too big. Is there a smaller one I can use? Didn’t have any old ones in it. Number on the tube is 14 95. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Which year housing and size (spline count) axles are you needing the seal for?

The axles are moser 35 spline. I think the housing is a 95 the inside diameter is 2.30

Depends on the ends and the bearings. I'm running Ford Torino ends with Set 20 sealed bearings in my Dana 60 and they don't use an inner seal. Doesn't sound like you have a factory setup so you'll have to figure out what you have and go from there.

That thread isn't going to help the OP. He says he has 35 spline axles (bigger diameter than stock) and he has 2.30 ID on the axle tubes which is much smaller than stock. My guess is that there isn't a seal that fits his combo which is why it doesn't have seals in it. The 2.30 ID seems a little small. Typical axles would be 3 inch OD with 0.250 wall so 2.500 ID.
