Capitol Raceway for you Maryland racers

It appears that Capitol Raceway in Crofton Md is reopening. At least that was the lastest rumors. The tower is getting new windows and being painted.

If so... that is good news.

Supposed to be coming from a good source.

Do you know who is reopening the track? I heard someone is doing a lot of work there.

Did Capitol open this past Friday? Did anyone go?

I had not heard anything. As far as I knew the lease ran out and nobody signed a new one...

Yes they opened on Friday and I heard it was packed and traffic was backed up along RT3. Eventually, the police started turning people away.
Track had some opening night bugs so it wasn't entirely smooth running but they will get them worked out. They cancelled the next days events but will be open this weekend. It wasn't a perfect opening night but it was good to hear about the turnout.

cool, 75/80 is also trying to re-open. This might motivate me to get my junk finished.

I listened to a Brian Lohnes podcast yesterday that was a few weeks old.

He said folks were onsite cleaning the place up and getting it ready to reopen.

Great news for racers in the area.

I think the county is running some road blocks.. I also don't know if the electrical system is up to the tasking yet.
