M/T Pro Radial slick

What to expect switching from a bias slick to the Pro radial.
Are these good radial slicks?
Anything better?

...can't say anything specific about the pro radial,and maybe doesn't apply to your application",but I've given up on my 14x32 pro bracket radials.
...most guys seem to love their smaller pbr's but I suffer with "radial rock" with mine.... it's a fairly high hp (1000)3300# dana60 backhalf car
I have to drop air pressure (12lbs and less)to get it to stop rocking....last straw was I twisted a set of 35 spline axles and spit a new (this year) pro gearset

I run the 28x10.5 Pro Bracket Radial, been super happy with them. They are three years old and have some street miles(100?) and about 100-120 passes on them and they still look like new. My best 60ft has been a 1.410.

We swapped from M/T 3062 (bias) to a 3062R (Pro Drag Radial). After trying everything we could to stop hitting the tyre hard, we decided to make the switch and carry on with where we left off on the chassis settings. On the first "full on" pass the car did a huge wheelstand, I panicked, it came down hard and damaged a lot of stuff. We have calmed it down some but the car has to wheelstand to run the best ET's and MPH (Caltracs). Best 60ft is 1.39 on the back wheels and 1.32 just breaking the 60ft beam with the fronts. The car ET'd .07 quicker on the 1.39 rear wheel 60ft. (9.51 v's 9.58) BTW.
If you are running good with the bias ply's you will likely have to alter the suspension settings to get the best from them, most hit them fairly hard and they need to dead hook by all accounts. We also experimented with tyre pressure and ran them as high as 20psi but we started to spin around that pressure, we usually run them at 18.
If I can help it, I won't go back to a bias ply, the car runs straight with no handling issues. We recently got some beadlock rims too as after around 25 passes, the tyre had moved on the rim 180 degrees.

I've never ran the Pro Radial slicks but I have ran both the M/T ET Street Radials and the same size M/T bias ply on my old Duster, the radials were right at .012 to .018 quicker ET and right at 2.0 MPH faster on a good track with no other changes.
The bad thing was they once they started to would spin they would go way up on the RPM unless I lifted right away, they would not recover unless I lifted some
I drove that car on the street also and I've had the radials start to spin going around a curve at 60 MPH when I step on it a little to pass another car, NOT GOOD
I think I've heard the new Pro Radial are a lot better at the track than the older ET Street Radials were

I tried a pair of Hoosier radial slicks 30x 10.5 and all I got was a bad chatter at the hit.
Possibly not enough tire pressure but it was enough for me to take them off.

I switched to the Hoosier radial 30 x 9 slick from a bias tire and I love the radial. My car always hooks good on them and the car goes nice and straight as no walking on the top end like it did a little with the bias. I did not really notice the car going any faster but I love how they work and handle. And since my car is a street car I run a radial tire up front and the car handles way better on radials on all 4 corners. Its just a high 10 car with 10.70's best and all I use is SS springs with the longer stock type shock. Ron
