426 Hemi ratroaster linkage - 12/05/20 01:11 AM

I picked up a nice Edelbrock RR2 Crossram intake and have been searching for linkage or pictures of the correct linkage. Anyone have some info?
Thanks

Good luck on that thumbs scope
How is your fab skills on making parts like that wrench
I built a 383 motor with a similar Eddy STR (Street Tunnel Ram) back in the early 1970s, the owner furnish the intake and either dual 600 or 650 Holley Double pumper carbs and Eddy linkage for mounting them like a cross ram with the carbs pointed straight ahead and not sideways.
That combination with a stock 1962 12 inch Mopar converter with 2.73 gears and short tires in the 1963 Dart 270 was a real dog under 3000 RPM and then it was like a rocket booster up to over 7500 RPM shruggy
It needed a decent upgraded complete fuel system and converter to be as good as it could have been, live and learn scope

I will take an overhead picture to show the linkage I made for it. I used some parts available from A&A that are for the factory cross ram . I used stainless to make the rods and purchased the ends. These are the 4235 and 4236 carbs.

Thanks Cab, I learned how to fab really nice linkage many years ago while working in automotive prototype. I was hoping someone had shots of the old Edelbrock stuff. Enjoy the holidays, Dave

Mark, thanks so much for the photos of your set up. Wow that linkage looks great! I was wondering what the big casting was that hangs off the side, now I know it’s for the pivot Stud. Hey is there any way to tell which end of the base is front or rear? I saw one with an F cast on top of one of the runners but mine is smooth. I’ll get a photo and post it.

Hemidavey . You are welcome . up
I don't know how to tell which end is which on the bottom part of the manifold. shruggy I would like to see the picture you have of the one with the F . If it was inside , then I may have ground it off since, I did a lot of grinding on the inside . I don't remember seeing it. I have not tried this setup. I suspect it would not have great street manors, and I have been going to shows and not racing the last couple years. It would be tough to use carbs, and make linkage for models other than the race Hemi ones because of the linkage arms on the Hemi carbs being on both sides.

The inline base has an F cast into the top of cyl # 2 runner near the trumpet. This photo is from eBay.

This is the modified intake that I’ll put on the Hemi. I don’t know if it matters, front or rear? It won’t go so I’ll contact you via pm.

I don't remember seeing that on mine . I do have a case of CRS these days. I need to review some pictures I took before I modified my intake. They are on another computer that is not functioning properly, so that may be a problem .
Thanks !

Isn’t the manifold angled like others, to compensate for the angle they are installed at?

Check it out.

I know the top only goes one way, the indentations for the levers determines how the carb sets. Mine is set up for the single 4 it I guess I just add the long divider. Base is same height not angled

My intake is not angled, base or lid. I have an Indy single 4 that is the same way. I'd guess it really messes up the fuel level in the emulsion tubes and bowls. The Chrysler crossrams are angled. The RR2 is 1.5" shorter than the Mopar crossram so there is room to add spacers. Angle milling would work for tight clearance on other cars. I'll contact my carb expert and inquire about angles and post here.
