Mine are the shorter A-body split mono's and no issues here. 1.36 60 ft. on 275's.
Are longer front segments supposed to be better?

Moves the instant center farther forward for starters to transfer weight like right NOW and I've been easy 1.33-1.34's footin to 2200 r's and hope to see lower yet when I put it on slicks and leave wherever it's happiest with the t-ram.....

Yes the longer front segment moves the IC forward and takes some of the "violence" out of the intial hit. Im not 100% sure about now, but i know Jason Digby was running the A body front segment springs for a long time, and deep into the 4sec range. IT can be done with the shorter segment but will just take a serious shock that has the valving to control that short IC hit. Shorter IC makes it seperate faster so good shock can slow it down/control it. IF starting from scratch get the longer segment, but make sure you get good rear shocks, they are almost more important than the spring

I've been 1.33 on 5-ways and I know that's not stellar or anything but it is a driver and street car first and foremost. Now I have Shiloh's old Vikings on the rear and on QTP's it went a 1.34 footin to 2200 r's but I'm sure on a full slick it would be better and soon I will know for sure. Bottom hole and 1 flat preload is all I've tried in years....

That small block is humping!!! The caltracs are definitely not an issue, you are very close to a 7 second 1/4 mile ET. Keep digging you are almost there.
