Re: Wrecked in my own driveway - 10/02/20 06:39 PM

You need a longer driveway for those kind of shenanigans

Re: Wrecked in my own driveway - 10/02/20 06:46 PM

main thing is, you are ok, right ? [other than needing a change of underpants]
the car can be fixed.
do you have a cable or solid rod for throttle control ?
sorry to see extra work now needed after you have worked so hard !

Re: Wrecked in my own driveway - 10/02/20 06:54 PM

I am fine,I had 35ft to stop with the front brakes locked.I have a lokar cable.the rear fender is the only bad part folding up from the hitch,The other stuff will push out from the fence post.My own fault I was going to move the truck in the drive.

Crap!! Sorry to see that. Another sad lesson learned the hard way. Looks like the damage isn't awful bad. How's the front end look?

Damn glad it wasn't worst. Similar stuff happened to a couple of my brothers. Both times it took out part of my dads garage.

Scary [censored] there, I've had a motor mount break and lock the throttle @ WFO, and it wasn't a blown motor. Sucks to damage your toy, but it doesn't look too bad. The little things can really mess you up. Best of luck getting it fixed up sawzall

Turn it in to your homeowners insurance. I hit my own garage door and they covered a new one. Never know it may be worth a try -- shruggy

Re: Wrecked in my own driveway - 10/04/20 12:03 AM

Thanks I will give that a try.

Re: Wrecked in my own driveway - 10/04/20 12:04 PM

did you video, the actual part where the car was pushing thru the brakes and crashing in to the fence? please keep that return spring on when starting and running the car.
Posted By: Clanton

Re: Wrecked in my own driveway - 10/04/20 02:10 PM

The spring is back on the car.No I did not record the crash because I had recorded several other videos and felt I shared enough.IDK if I want to relive the crash watching it on video again and again.I am sick just thinking of it.I can still run the car like it is all though not pretty I will get to it.

Re: Wrecked in my own driveway - 11/15/20 03:38 PM

This is just an update so you can see what you could be dealing with having no insurance.Fixing my neighbors house is costing upwards of 7K$ with sunroom parts no longer being made so I am looking at custom fabrication and a problematic neighbor so this is going to drag out.
