Stupid 6.00 Barrier!......w/Vids & Time Slips

I just can't seem to get it over the damn line.......Steller Air today to boot. Slicks are shot and I need to put a T-stat in to better maintain temp...Hotter is faster....

1st round....6.01 at 115.44mph and a Damn -.007 red light....Playing a little too close, should have knocked 1-2psi out of the front tires damit.

I have a friend that is like that trying to break into the 10's.

We laugh at him and say he has an 11.0 bracket car. Last week it went 11.03..

Have you found out what RPM it likes to be shifted at to go as fast as it can? If not maybe you should

I have the same problem with the 9.00 barrier. We're going to give it a shot today. Street car is is stuck at the 11.0 barrier as well. Both cars have been within a few thousandths.

I did go with a buddy to Lebanon valley yesterday. We got his car from 9.60 to 9.40 just

To get where I am, I put in a Mezeire electric water pump in place of the mechanical one, I jetted the carb up twice yestarday and once a week earlier, I could not find a 4500 by .250 spacer, so I stacked carb gaskets up to get the carb as high as possible and allow for as much plenum as possible, and I have been pushing the timing....And switched to trans brake launches after pushing thru the brakes.

So this caused one unforeseeable problem, the motor likes heat to run fast, I need to add a T-stat back in to get the temp back up to +170.....Right now, getting it over 150 is a chore.

What I have not done, is raised the shift points or the launch rpm....

So close!! Surely you must have a hundredth hidden somewhere...You’ll find it

I think I get one more try at it this coming weekend....Probably going to raise the shift point up...And put a T-stat in it.

Drain three quarts of oil out of it.

What fuel do you run and what weight is your a body? I just found the last ticket of 2019 (the last time the car was out and it went a 6.08@113.42) breaking up on top end. Wasn't expecting that 60' was a 1.36 never got a chance to get out this year. I was working on indexing the rotor and getting back out but never did.

Hardest barrier to surpass

60' is all over the place.

Tires are done....Wear bars aren't even showing anymore. And the 60fts are getting worse, I keep dropping the air pressure. I was surprised I got a 1.32 on the last outing to be honest. Launch rpm is 3k.....Could try a 4k hit, but if it sticks it, that is going to be a hell of a wheelie.....And I do not have bars.

Tried everything this weekend.....Ran with the big boys on Friday and went out in the forth round...Ran GRS series in the morning and went out in the 2nd round....Ran a Gamblers race in the after noon and runnered up.....Kept taking myself out with red lights...

Raised the launch rpm...
Raised the shift rpm...
Lowered the tire pressure
Did everything I could think of....

Stayed 6.0 all weekend....Ran a best of 6.03 in 80 heat, hit a new best 60ft of 1.29......Had some fun though.
