Anyone here running hydraulic roller cams for street use?
Thinking of using one on my current build. I lost a love on a solid cam awhile back and would rather not to that again!

My auto correct to English dictionary tells me that you lost a lobe on a solid flat tappet and would rather not do that again.
So much for artificial intelligence.................or it would know that I very rarely type " duck ".
I have not run one........I have a solid roller that sees street miles and has been trouble free.
My understanding is that they are pretty critical of spring pressure and lifter pre load compared to a hyd. flat tappet.
But I think that if they weren't worth a dang , the OEM's wouldn't have them in nearly every motor that leaves the assembly line.
Like anything else , stick with quality parts and you should be fine.

Yea, auto correct gets me every time!
And that’s what I figure, hydraulic rollers are in all the new stuff and go well over 100k no problem.

Take a look at this thread of mine on here about something very similar.

For me this was a move from a hydraulic flat tappet to a hydraulic roller setup. I do not have this build finished yet, so unfortunately no feedback, although I am interested in what otherws will say.

Just curious, do you run the “street” lifters or the “max effort” lifters. I have them going into a build that should be done in a few weeks. Hoping they perform flawless for a good long time. Fingers crossed.

I have the trickflow cam in a 10 to 1 440 with ported sidewinders. Absolutely love the power it’s making with that cam.
It’s 243/247@050 .600/.600 lift on 108lsa. I had roughly 1000 miles on the motor with a 230@050 .520 roller.
It made 490hp and 553tq with that cam. The new cam feels like 75hp more and likely 30 more torque all the way through.
Lifters are Howard’s if I remember correctly.

Sounds like it’s working pretty good!

six summers now with lots of street miles with Hughes Racing hydraulic roller with Morel 5319 lifters, just make sure your lifter bores are within spec. if oval our out of spec have them bushed.
