Cab it was 120 degrees when we loaded the car after work Thursday.... I was seriously questioning my plans, but it was pretty nice here in Bakersfield after the sun went down. Running pro class tonight so someone’s getting a free pass to round 2 laugh2

Air wasn't horrible today, wasn't great air, but not horrible. Humidity was low.

It’s right around 2970 race ready with driver. Something got hurt Saturday night..... err I mean Sunday morning as round 2 completed at 3am. I thought maybe flex plate bolts, but refired and didn’t like the oil psi.... of course it was really early, I knew I was done even though I did win the round, and it had already been a long day. Head hit the pillow at 5am, got up and was on the road by 9am for the 6hr tow home. Unloaded all the stuff in 112 degree heat, and I’m pretty much fried.... I saw the winners circle picts and the sun was coming up! laugh2.... how cool is that!

I can't relate to the 1/4 times. What were the 1/8 mile numbers?

A quick approximation is .66 (or 2/3) times the quarter mile time. Going the other way, 1.5 times the eighth mile et is a close approximation for a quarter mile. Neither one is exact, but it's close enough for horseshoes or hand grenades.

Since Jay is either sleeping or working Ill tell ya. 5.833 116.48

Those numbers show his car is fairly efficient. Most likely everyone here could be better at having efficient combos but as far as it goes Jays deal is pretty decent. Can work on those short times a tad and improve that. Hopefully he will get the chance.

Re: New best for my small block Duster - 08/04/20 04:49 AM

Well like I said.... it was REALLY early in the am when the “issue” came up. It was a dang header gasket. Must have burned out on the pass because all seemed ok. Took the win, pulled N and killed the engine. Coasted to return road and went to fire up as always and that was definitely a noise that I was not expecting. I freaked!! laugh2 fixed it tonight and all is well. Water manifold is leaking though so I’ll have to address that too.

My best 1/8 mile pass so far was a 5.79 at Irwindale.... Al posted the correct 1/8 increments for my sat am pass from this past weekend.

Now time for trailer tire shopping! Caught one leaving me on a rest stop inspection. All were 162-164 degrees except for one..... 185! I always carry 2 spares.

Well that’s true Cab.... but the race literally went DUSK TO DAWN. Winner circle picts were taken Sunday AM as the sun was coming up. Famoso at midnight to sun up is a really nice place to be smile. What I screen shot on my phone at 3:50 am Saturday was 67.5 degrees, 57% humidity, 29.10 uncorrected baro, 29.94 corrected, SE wind 3mph, dew point 52, 58.7 grains, 1891 DA. This was an hour and a 1/2 after my 9.21 pass which was around 2100DA.

Thanks for clarifying that up
I don't remember it cooling down that much there when we would go over there to race in the summer, even in late Sept. shruggy
