Jegs - 07/11/20 04:51 PM

Last week I placed an order for an item, I saw later that it was back ordered. I tried to cancel the order a few hours later, there is no where on their website to do so. I called customer service and was on hold for an hour. I hung up and called again later thru the order desk after another 15 minute hold I finally got a salesperson and she told me to call customer service, I told her I tried to and was on hold for an hour, she put me on hold for another 5 minutes and finally told me she would email customer service. I finally got an email hours later stating the order was canceled. I had the same problem with a return a month ago. I like Jegs ,I have ordered a lot from them over the years, they do a lot for the sport , they were a sponsor of the Million dollar race last week that an acquaintance of mine Won, and they are racers themselves which is great! but perhaps they should concentrate on their business a little more. I have ordered from Summit recently and had no problems.

I had to cancel recently as well. I was told Covid is making shipping a nightmare right now.

Guys
Everything is upside down right now with procurement. Companies that are shut down are WAY behind and even the companies that are open are operating on skeleton staffs. Good companies with great track records are really struggling to keep up. We are seeing months of wait time for parts we stock normally. You cannot send everyone home to hide under the bed and expect the trucks to keep on rolling. Look at the highways. Where are all the trucks????? Our local Fed EX hub was building circus tent like structures to hold all of the undelivered packages. I am holding orders for weeks that used to take a day or two. Give them another chance when the world calms down. Todd

Everything's pretty much disrupted, from staff having to work from home to reduced staffing altogether.
This starts at the mfr and goes all the way through customer service.
I'm almost amazed now when something shows up within 10 days of ordering it.
The cluster-activity also includes the utility companies, which weren't exactly easy to deal with before the virus.

I've ordered a bunch of perf. suspension parts for my Mustang....All of them are on back order and estimated shipping is late Aug. at this point. I think everyone spent their stimulus money on car parts, combined w the covid thing caused this.

I know opinions are like other parts of the body but here is mine. Never have I had to put up with the lack of customer service from just about anywhere as I have the past few months. I honestly think a lot of this is an excuse for not doing your darn job. I know shipping and the other problems these businesses are having but , If you are willing to take my money then do your darn job. I honestly feel a lot of the problems are excuses for either bad planning or lack of give a crap.As far as Jegs , My son ordered a roll cage sept of last year from them and after months finally got his money back for non shipment in Feb of this year. That was Way before the virus excuse.

No body is perfect!

Jegs , I paid for hotchkiss upper arms in nov . Still haven’t gotten them . Yes I call every couple weeks , yes Jegs calls hotchkiss while I hold on , they keep telling me they coming bla bla , but still not here . I’m assuming hotchkiss won’t make just one set ?

Other than that Jegs has been pretty good to me . Always handle any problems . Everything I’ve been ordering has come 2-3 days .

As mentioned, supply right now is a disaster because of COVID . We deal with it a lot at my job (Autobody supply) and it’s amazing what is held up . And yea some people do use COVID as an excuse .... lol

I have yet to have any issues with ordered parts.. so far. I am with Kindafast though, I am seeing way too much of people using covid as an excuse to slack off and not do their job! From staff at the parts house to the grocery store, it frequently feels like folks believe that just showing up makes them a hero and treating the customer with respect is their last priority. I can understand and deal with the shortages, but bad customer relations is just unacceptable. If things ever normalize again, I won't forget those businesses.

I order a March Serpentine belt drive chrome kit for a 350 Chevy in March from Summit along with a bunch of other hard motor parts like piston, cam and lifter and so on.
I got everything but the March kit whiney, time to call them in the morning shruggy

Troll around on Summits website for awhile. About a 1/3 is on backorder from sbc cams to sbm intakes. Its a total mess. A month ago I walked into my local Harbor Freight and it was empty. Wait till the 3 Gorges Dam breaks. Everyday my GF says "its going to get worse"

Not very tickled with my first buying experience there. Baited me with a discount that brought their price down to same price as other sites, and "part ships the next day" availability. Ordered part, next day order status says shipped. I phone for a tracking number since its been almost a week, turns out it's back ordered to latter half of October. Cancelled order, have to wait a week for refund.
The website not being able to search by engine is not very good either... Won't be buying anything from there ever again.

I haven't dealt with them for years. They support the sport, participate, I guess they are nice guys, but...

The website is awful. I can't use it to search. I just give up. The Summit site - and everyone else for that matter - is much better to use. Shipping sucks as well. Even though they are in the same state. This goes back for years, so the COVID excuse doesn't work.

Their catalog and website really need a re-design.
Summit and Speedway are much easier & quicker to use, and often Summit has info I need.
