It seems they did a good job of showing that nothing has changed from the days when I was involved in street racing:
45 minutes of arguing for 10 seconds of racing, fights when the loser refuses to pay, cops constantly chasing you out. A good reminder of why I stopped.
The only thing they got wrong was that they identified a couple of cars as mopars that clearly were not.

Matt and I finally watched last weeks episode last night. What the heck was up with chucky??? If I had part of the 15000.00 bet on that race and he just sat there you would have had to pry my fingers from his neck. Several pretty quick cars racing on terrible roads. Even over 40 years ago we never had cops just roll in and not do anything. If they rolled in someone was going to jail, we couldn’t just pull into car trailers and hide. LMAO. But I did enjoy parts of it.

I'm losing a lot of respect for Chucky Davis.
Watching him the last few years, just not sure what's up with him.

Unfortunately, all the various racing shows have fallen victim to the manufactured drama theme. Us car guys are not the intended audience.

Right after Memphis Street Outlaws on Discovery.

Yeah, it's like the 2nd half of MSO, which on the programming guide is a 2-hour MSO.
It's low-level cell-phone filming and pretty much limited to "this car runs that car, one wins".
MSO is almost hard to sit through with the yelling, gibberish, and JJ always repeating "hisself", so in a way SRA is almost a relief laugh2

I thought it was pretty good, but of course they gotta have the drama and bs. In my opinion the new show is what street racing REALLY is, no construction lights lighting up the street and no cops not bagging anybody nonsense.

This show was the precursor to Street Outlaws. It lasted 2 episodes with racing from the streets of LA. 4 door street cars with idiots for drivers. This new series is much better. The JJ show is loosing favor. Discovery is looking for the next winner.

Well you gotta hand it to JJ, he’s riding the wave while the surfs up. Prior to the event they filmed in Tucson the MSO booked races at some smaller tracks (New Mexico, and Irwindale in CA for sure). These events weren’t filmed, but the packed the places and got their cut $$$. I know the CA guys whooped on the mso at that deal, but JJ and crew Still making that money!

MSO is currently filming..... fairly new concrete road that is a truck by-pass around a town. They (MSO) were invited by a group of racers and got the green light blessing from the city/state despite the Chinese Virus hooplah....
