Nice, congrats. What's the race weight and suspension? I was gonna try one of those boxes when my 511 was underperforming. Thought maybe the cause might be my Ice Ignition box. How do you like the box?

Re: new Best - 06/26/20 02:57 AM

133 mph at 3900 lbs in a car shaped like a barn door is pretty decent. Your ET and MPH are pretty close to what the chart calls for so it looks like your chassis is working good. Should be a fun ride and I'm sure you'll pick up some speed when you get a nice weather day. Come out here to Oregon when the weather is 70 degrees with DA of 100 feet and it will run great!

That's flying for that big tub....Congrats. What's the engine combo?

Interesting you're 60ft seems light and so does your mph to go 9.84, so the mid range has to be really pulling...What are you shifting at, are you short shifting it?

I can tell you, there is more in that combo...If I had to guess, I would looking to see if its lean on the top end, and adding more timing for the 60ft...Where is the timing mark on the plugs?

I have to confess .... if you look at the best pass mph I lifted. Things are happening way faster than when it ran 10.60's obviously, I shift at 6800 and it was pulling BUT it seemed like the shift light was on forever !!! timing is 34 and we didn't pull a plug so yes I hope there is more in it. Andy F where did this engine stop making power ? I have the limiter at 7500. I will have more DATA as soon I can get my act / seat time together

The Engine is Andy's former 514 Dyno engine

Re: new Best - 06/27/20 02:52 AM

Peak power with my ported intake and 2 inch headers was in the 6800 to 7000 range. Just depended on which parts we had on the engine. If you're still running the OOTB Super Victor then it might be nosing over a little sooner. I was running a 2000 cfm throttle body and I think you have a 1150 Dominator so that might be knocking a little off. I'd think you're in good shape if you are shifting at 6800 and then running out the back door at 7000. You'll just need to keep an eye on the valve lash and the plugs until you get some more laps on it.

Re: new Best - 06/27/20 03:31 PM

I had the Intake cleaned up nothing like Wilsons work but better than OOTB, We still have the larger intake rockers to try also, so I will keep updates

Re: new Best - 06/27/20 08:56 PM

After looking at the time slip some more I agree that you have a bit left in the car. The 60 ft is a little soft for 9.84 and the mph is slow for 9.84. So if you got it to launch harder you would pick up some time and if you run it WOT out the back door it will pick up a little. That time slip looks like you got on it hard mid-track where it picked up time and speed but then you lifted at the end. Nothing wrong with that since it is one of the first times you've had that combo to the track. Get a few more passes under your belt with that engine and you'll pick up a little bit more.
