Single spirolox-Good enough?

This build i am finishing up for myself is a lowdeck stroker, 498” at 13:1 comp.. the pistons are KB Icon 2618 forged. They come with single spirolocks per side. IF alot of attention is paid, and they are installed correctly, how could they fail and back out? I recently finished up a higher quality build with Diamond pistons, and that setup had double sprirolocks on each side. I have read somewhere that most real deal race pistons will have the double locks. So, if they are installed correctly, is there still a chance that they coukd somehow back out? Anyone have any issues with single locks?

I like the double, and I do know someone who lost a motor that had a spirolox fail, not clear if it broke and fell out or fell out and broke. It was a single. That said it seems like a rare occurrence, if your stuff is all set up and ready to go I wouldn't be afraid. I really don't see how those things could just fall out.

The guy who had the failure had a setup that was hard to keep from detonating too, and I always suspected it somehow may have caused it.

All the KB, Icon spirolocs I've seen are three layers, not two like all the rest used out here.
I think the key to getting any retainer to work properly is to ensure, especially on True Arcs or Spirolocs, that they have the minimum end play or more on the wrist pin to retainer clearances

I checked them all out very very well and the locks are completely in the grooves. They are, as you say Cab, tripple wound spirolocks. But, i use that Torco mpz assy lube and it is very hard to determine how much endplay is there with that stuff. But i can see some slightest movement of the pin. So i guess its good. I use it sparingly, but with such tight clearances, most of it gets pushed out when installing the pin. Wiping the excess away to install the locks still leaves some. So it’s not dry and loose to clearly see endplay.

Its just something i was thinking about, as i’d hate to lose a motor to something like this, like GtxMatt’s buddy. Thx for the replies.
