Timing chain stretch question - 03/26/09 02:42 AM

When i pulled the cam out of my motor, I noticed the timing chain had a tiny bit of slack in it, not 100% tight. I cant remember how tight it was when i installed it, was a while ago. Its a billet rollmaster unit, a quality piece. My question is, is this normal for timing chains, or are they supposed to be 100% tight. When i install my new cam, im wondering if i should just get a new set or would this one be good to reuse still?

They stretch almost instantly if you have healthy springs.
