Thought I'd check the weight before installing.

8.5 lbs. weight savings off the front of the car in front of the spindles is good up twocents

Exactly, the water pump is negligible, about 1 pound IIRC. I just gutted my 58 pound Mopar resto battery and installed an Odyssey, 29 pounds now. That’s some savings, and even further in front!

But yeah, I have AL heads, intake, WP, WPH, headers. Probably weighs what a stock small block weighed from the factory.

I just did the same thing on my GTX. Nasty job.

On mine I cut a piece of 1/4 inch plywood for the bottom and epoxied 4 screws to act as locating pins only, no nuts. Then Velcro the batt to the wood, no movement, no foam. Now when I remove the batt hold down the cover will raise off the batt.

Those Oddessey batteries have about 380 CCA, is that enough power to turn over big engines/ high C.R.s?

Just found these on Summit... https://www.summitracing.com/parts/brl-b2317rp?rrec=true 17lbs, 475CCA (641 CA @ 32 deg), $200. A review says it will start a 13.1 CR 432 cube engine just fine.

It’s working fine on my 10.2 : 1 440. But yeah, I’m a bit concerned about that too, especially as it ages. Other people report success though.
