Need some time slips

Need some time slips - 04/02/20 11:27 PM

I need some time slips to do some figurin’.

Looking for slips from a car that runs 10.00 - 10.20’s on the wood.
Ideally looking for slips from a car that’s around 3400#, auto trans, skinny tire (9 or 10”), with an engine around 426-440.

Appreciate it if any one can share their slips.

Re: Need some time slips - 04/03/20 01:38 AM

Maybe browsing through NHRA live timing from the few Div. 2 events they got in might be helpful. But naturally some runs may be sandbagging or just lifting. Sounds like some A & B/SA Stock Eliminator cars would fit in that range. South Georgia Motorsports park isn't available.

NHRA/LODRS Gainesville, FL live timing results.

NHRA/LODRS Orlando, FL live timing results.

Thanks - didn’t know this info existed. Now I need to see which A,B cars fit the bill - looking for Mopars only.

You could go to D1TV or DragracerTV on YT and watch past Divisional races. Stock qualifying would be best Live timing is displayed on the screen for each run along with car info. Plus video obviously.

Stockers would be cars that aren't highly modified and have been thrashed on to go as fast as possible under the rules. Not unusual for the fast guys to lift at 1000'. D3 has a lot of Mopars if that matters.

Thanks again. Yes, need to be Mopars as I want to use the baseline car (factored HP vs. weight).

Thanks for this slip! Due to the rainy season last year and a running only 1/8th mile events end of year, I have run almost identical to every incremental on that slip save for the 10.24! I had plugged the numbers into the Wallace calculator but good to see a similar car do it in real life! It gives me a goal this season.

Seems like a lot of those in D3 and you know they will usually have the lightweight stuff in the trans, converter figured out, gear ratios right, chassis squared away, etc. So a pretty decent example of how fast they should be going at a certain power/weight. Gonna have to be a big block or Hemi car to get into the low 10s. Can always watch Super Stock while you're there.

Thanks.

Pretty dismal, we (Chrysler) were not represented very well in the qualifying field in the upper ranks.

They may not be complete timeslips, but many people listed some 1/4 mile info on "Unlawful's Fastest Car List".

Re: Need some time slips - 04/04/20 02:31 PM

Thanks 440Jim.

Final question - who has dyno results for their engine where the car is approx 3400 on the starting line, auto trans from this list.

If anyone has those dyno results and are willing to share I would appreciate seeing them. PM or post as you wish.

Re: Need some time slips - 04/05/20 03:59 AM

My pump gas Duster fits on the weight (3450 Lbs. with me in it ready to race with a full stock tank ) and ET but the motor doesn't shruggy
It was a 400 block bored to 4.375 with a 4.300 stroke crankshaft 517 or 518 CI, CRS now on the math.
727 reverse manual valve body, no trans brake, ladder rear suspension with coil overs with both a 8 3/4 until I bent it up so bad it broke the ladder bar mounts off the axle housing and then with a pick up Dana 60 cut down to fit, both rear ends had 35 spline axles and spools up
It ran 10.69 at 124.+? MPH with iron 906 heads with bigger valves and some port work on original 511 C.I. 9.25 to 1 pump gas motor using the low deck Eddy stock looking six pack intake and 440 1970 six pack carbs. That combination made 612 HP at 5500 RPM and 544 Ft. lbs. torque at 4500 CA pump swill in 2004 on a DTS engine dyno at the Carb Shop in Ontario, CA.
I swap the heads to a set of MCH ported Eddy RPM heads and then the next winter swap the 4.25 stroke crank out for a 4.300 stroke to raise the compression from 9.25 to 1 to 10.29 to 1. those two changes made the car run from low 10.30 to 10.40 at 129.+MPH in the 1/4 mile at Woodburn in June of 2011 on 315x60x15 M/T ET Street Radials.
I swap the heads and intake again several years later to a set of Indy SR Max Wedge size intake ports and at Indy 400-3 intake with a 1050 CFM Holley Dominator carb, those changes raised the compression to 10.78 to1 and that motor made 727 HP at 6900 RPM with around 685 Ft. Lbs. in Klamath Falls, OR at 4300 ft. altitude. on a new DTS engine dyno. I don't have those dyno sheets now, they went with the car. whiney
Those changes made the car run a best of 9.993 at 133.43 MPH at Woodburn Drag Strip on 10-16-2011 cork up with the full exhaust system on the carb along with the air cleaner running OR 91 octane non ethanol pump swill, I was told to not come back for anymore runs after that as the car was legal to 10.00 at or below 134.99 MPH devil
That car was a lot of fun and I learned a lot from working, tuning and swapping parts on it.
