My thinking on contacting the local law agency is to ask them to go by the place to see if they are opened or closed, if open to let them know your calling about them on your parts twocents
Some times you need help on problem resolution, some times you don't shruggy

At the request of a fellow racer I actually went to his house a couple of years ago to retrieve a long ago promised box. At that time he was working out of his home in a Charlotte suburb, long story but he seemed nice enough. Good luck getting your box back, afraid he’s long been noted for writing checks his body and time won’t allow him to cash. By all accounts his work is top notch though so perhaps you’ll get lucky.

Doe MSD still service the boxes? I've got one with an intermittent problem I'd like to get looked at.

Sorry to hear there are problems. They - or he - was great to deal with a few years back on mine, and helpful with coil info.
I had a fast turnaround and a friendly price, and the box is still perfect.
Could it be a side effect of workload + this virus ?

Re: Techwest and my MSD boxes  - 03/31/20 07:20 PM

Maybe so, I hope so anyway.
My boxes are one MSD 10 Plus and coil and a MSD 8975 retard
box. I've got my fingers crossed🤞
If worst comes to worse I'll have to find someone in the
area to pick them up for me. I don't mind the length of time
it taking to fix any problems with my boxes, it's just the
lack of communication shruggy that's a hard pill to swallow.

help LoL frown

GOOD, because the older analog boxes are much more reliable than the current digital crap they are making!

I remember reading comments on the guy some time back...........a couple years maybe ?
He typically delivered , but moved with the speed of a glacier.
A month to three seemed to be normal.
I sent my stuff to MSD.

Never used Techwest. But he's been around a long time. has a good reputation for his work at least, that I've seen. And he's slow. This time of year, with everything going on, I don't know what to expect from anyone right now.

And I expect the cops have more to deal with right now than ride over to his place and check on your boxes. The times suck for everyone.

He's had/having some persoanl/family health issues. His work is good. The wait has been long. This has been an issue for about 1 1/2-2 years. He's overwhelmed. He should have the courtesy of not accepting new work until he solves his backlog.

I agree, to many small business guys make the same mistake, get good at what they do and then make customers mad by taking on more work than they can get done in the time they tell the customers tsk
I much rather tell a customer it is going to take 3 to 4 months to build his motor and get it done in 6 weeks and call them to come pick it up twocents

Well with all that's been said, I really would like some feed back from him if only to say he'll get to it
as soon as possible you know.
Not hearing anything is not cool at all. I don't know if I should wright off my boxes or have someone pick them up for me?

Well for now I guess I'll weight a bit longer. drinking

No mention if you tried to contact him lately.

Why not send a letter to him with a stamped self addressed envelope before doing anything else.
He may surprise you.

It's weird reading thees comments. I contacted him last fall. Sent a 7al2 to him, he received it on a tues, he called me on WED. and said how much to fix,(total referb. w/ updates), and I had it back the following Tues. I was very satisfied.
I hope it all works out for you.

I've called him about every 3 days or so a couple of days after
my boxes where delivered.
I spoke with him prior to sending my boxes. I have also
emailed him aswell with no reply.

And yet you still got to pay the big bucks for what used to be made in Texas and now done in the PRC for less quality and higher profit margins.

Re: Techwest and my MSD boxes  - 05/29/20 11:12 PM

Well I have news, I can't say good or bad just news.
The officers spoke with him and he agreed to return my parts
to me. So he brought them to me at the hotel. The pug tower
Is broken off so I'll have to refix that, he also said he felt my problem
was in my MSD 10 box but he couldn't find the parts to fix it.
I have my doubts he opened the box the marks I had on it are
still their and its missing some of the wire lug screws.
I'd say all in all I'm just glad to get them back.
Now I still need to find someone to fix my box shruggy
