But SOLD OUT stands ? .... I’ll have to really that out !

My Uncle lived in Florida and my Dad was a snowbird. Dad would park his motorhome in the infield and my uncle and dad would work as track stewards for the week. President Trump just arrived down there and it would be a fun day to watch. My dvr is set up

I'm sure they've done it at all the "big" tracks. Nothing looks worse on National TV than thousands of empty seats.

in addition to the removed seats, tickets are sold in bulk to the secondary market * the track doesn't have any available tickets = SOLD OUT

how come they never advertise ATTENDANCE numbers?

With the renovation finished in 2015 seating was reduced to 101,000 from 160,000. They claim around 60,000 can go in the infield. Think the 200,000 mentioned earlier may have been for all week.

Betting just a few cases of beer sold this week..... I was in the garage prepping my junk for MaTS and was actually going to watch some.

They removed all the stands and suites on the super stretch side of track. Hard to believe they were fairly new and Pepsi alone had 2 suites there. We used to get tickets given to us by the handful to give away for the Pepsi 400 because they didn't want people seeing all the empty seats on tv.

My local hater news network said there was almost 100k there.

Considering how nascar just got more control over that track and others Id think they have a plan in place so id think our speculation here is pointless to a point. It could be all them little shapes in the lucky charms box that keeps nascar going, but I doubt it.

Yea, they "camoflaged" the stands by painting a lot of the seats different colors so it looks like there are people in them when the cameras pan by them.

i thought the same thing. Maybe they should lower prices. Not always going to get the peak money from days past. I'm sure lots of people would love to go if it was more affordable. They should be filling the seats even if they have to give them away. Will still profit from beer and t shirt sales. Having a seat sitting empty seams ignorant to me.

Maybe those were all Secret Service filling those seats for security reasons

Understand, there is a big difference between just announcing an event is sold vs really being sold out, in that the propaganda advantages are usually positive, and nobody can easily dispute, and we have been down this crowd size path before, right?
