The guy was a pioneer.
I imagine there are a lot of people who lived to race again as a result of his work.

The number of lives he saved through his ideas & products is probably incalculable.

I remember when the Nascar weenies tried to blame him for the Earnhardt death. When they finally checked Dale's car they found out his belts were all expired and he used no head or neck resrtraint devices. Bill Simpson was so distressed over this that he almost quit the safety business. Simpson was totally exonerated and Head restraints became mandatory after this.
