Old school rat roaster

Old school rat roaster - 11/16/19 12:04 AM

I'm putting together a 511 hemi, going to use a rat roaster. I know there are better manifolds, but this is what I'm using. I'm after the old school look. I've been told that many years ago there was tech-tuning info printed in a direct connection book. I'm after that info. I understand that the manifold needs a few dams epoxied in it to help with fuel distribution. I'm running the dual quad top plate. Thanks again.

That's a cool looking old manifold. Good luck with it!

I am planning on doing the same thing. There are some things that need to be done inside for sure. Like filling the low areas to help prevent fuel puddles . I put a nitrous pop off valves on mine as they have been known to backfire and crack the lids.

Which dual four barrel top, in line or sideways to mimic the SS cross ram intakes like in the picture on this post?
That makes a bunch of differences on which mods you need to make for your intake scope
Eddy made several different versions of manifolds like that for other Mopar V8, they where called the Street Tunnel ram as well as some other names I can't think of right now whiney

Don't mean to hijack but I'd love to run one of these with dual throttle body EFI. work

While not the Hemi unit, this RB manifold is similar with the removable lid. The 6bbl application needed the front dam added and the rear divider removed.

I’m thinking the Indy Wedge Modman got its design influenced by the STR.

As for backfiring, I would make sure you have a separate ignition on source.
Spin the motor then hit the ignition. This solved the backfiring on all the cars we ran with the STR and RR.

I'm running the inline dual quad top. It's got to work with my air grabber. Thanks again every one!

This should be the information for the inline RR intake mods.
