More bad news from the salt flats
Lee Sicillo’s Daytona clone spun out of control at approximately 291mph, we believe he is okay.

Ouch...that hurts the pocket book just to look at it...Glad everyone is ok. Looks like it could have been worse...

Damn.
The salt looks kinda wet, I heard SCTA postponed running earlier in the month.

I think that is engine oil. We just got our first rain in a month last week...
I actually own land on the other-side of that mountain on the far end, got 95 acres.

The salt was dry and hard, in contrast to Speed Week at couple weeks ago.
On the same day Rob Freyvogel also crashed his Carbiliner at 390+ mph... and ended up in hospital.

Wishing both of them a full and speedy recovery!

Looks like the roll cage did its job.

Oh that's awful. But the structure seems to have held up. Hope driver is okay

I read that the roll cage was only slightly bent in one spot.

While the driver is in the hospital I don't believe there are any serious injuries.

I understand the car made a hard left and then did end over ends, rolls, pirouettes and about every trick imaginable.

Chassis did its job for sure.

Picture says a lot for safety rules. Cage and frame looks really good. Prayers go out to the driver.
