Hemi Cross Ram - 09/16/19 02:07 PM

Does anybody have any feed back on Mopar Performance Cross Ram Intake Manifold MOPP5007534? I have a 605” pump gas hemi with a dominator. Wanting to change the look to more period correct manifold but I don’t want to lose to much performance if any.

I have a 65 Dodge like you. And I have a single 4 on it like you. And you are correct. It looks totally wrong. I assume the new crossram would work much better than the original because of the larger and better shaped ports. I have a ported one of those that I would sell if you want it. And I have some carbs. You are right. It would look much better. Single 4 on a hemi is just totally wrong. Especially on a 65.

I know of several guys that bought those intakes and couldn't make them work well whiney down
I've owned, race and driven a stock 1968 aluminum SS cross ram intake with a set of 1968 carbs that John Bauman had done for that car, that set up worked very well up
Me thinks the cast 2x4 cross ram intake from Ray Barton would be a much better choice, if he still has any of them scope

The Ray Barton intake is nice but it's $3,200

Just for info. The Mopar Hemi crossram weighs 67 lbs with no carbs or linkage.

The Ray Barton is magnesium so it would be lighter but it b pricy.

I've wonder about the other supplier of OEM looking M.W and Hemi SS looking Repo crossram intakes, any one on here used one of the Hemi intakes

Those are nice repops of the originals. I don't know if they have any in stock. I tried to get an air cleaner from them a few months ago but they were out. I think he's wanting the Mopar Performance crossram with the bigger ports.

What about the Indy Tunnel Ram? Not original type, but will likely perform a lot better:
