Anyone have any idea the lead time CSR has on their Super Shields? I'm up to 3 months now and pretty much calling the ladies in the office just to see how they're doing.
Not sure who you ordered from but if its Part Number 836 it looks like the following online stores have 1 in inventory, but maybe call to verify first?
Before I installed the shield I had a blanket,,,,,,,,,,rolled up in the trunk next to the battery. When tech asked me if I had a blanket in the car my reply was YES Like John I have never had tech check the trans, damper or axles.
My Southern Friends tell me there is no tech down south.
I have NEVER had a tech try to crawl under my car to check the date on my shield and its been on there since it was new(years ago).. they check simple things like the ground strap on the sending unit and if it shuts down when they hit the master shut off
I have had techs ask about a shield, I have had techs look to see if there was a shield, but I have never had a tech look at the date.
However I would think if one was caught in a lie about a certification date at a NHRA Divisional or National event you could be suspended for six months to a year.
I waited 3 month's for mine. Kept being told it would be shipped on friday. They said I would have it in a week I guess they didn't say which week. But it is a nice shield

I had a tech guy look just to make sure I had a blanket or shield at an IHRA Sportsman Spectacular, but that's it. My current blanket pissed me off so it's rolled up in the trailer and I ordered the shield. I kept being told it's shipping Friday as well, which is funny because CSR isn't open on Fridays.
Other than just wanting to sell new shields, does anyone know CSRs justification for not re-certifying unmodified shields the second time?
I went through a BS storm to get my done. Told them it was not modified in any way. I even shipped all the hardware with it to show them it was like new. They finally recertified it reluctantly after a bunch of arguing back and forth. They tried to tell me that the material would start to lose its ability to perform.

Nope. The only time my car has been tech inspected to any degree was at Memphis in 2008 for the Pump Gas Drags and at Pinks in 2010 at ZMax. They didn't check dates on any of that stuff then either though. The only dates they checked were on the seat belts. Local tracks to me check nothing other than radiator overflow cans and driveshaft loops.
They did one re-cert on my old shield, then told me they won't do it a second time when it expired while the car was down.
So, I bought a new one, but it's been so long cuz it's taken longer to get the car back on the track that the new one's cert has expired already. Am I going to send it back? He11 no... nobody looks at that stuff on a car as slow as mine, only seat belts and... I don't know what else.
