Anyone remember the 32 car TF fields at the US Nats ?

And I think for awhile there was a SIXTY FOUR car field.

Those were the days

IMO, the Nats has no more importance then any other race on the schedule. Not such a big deal like it was many years ago even though they still try to hype it up as it is still special..

I would say you are WRONG. Look at the entry list to confirm how special this race still is to those of us who do race. If you run Stock, SS, or Comp it is the ONE race a year to be #1 qualifier and win.

Having 24 national events may have something to do with it twocents, but the Pomona events, the Gators and Indy are still pushed as premier events.

There are a lot of people that would not agree with you. 1.5 times the points, class eliminations in both Stock and Super Stock with qualifying for a 128 car field. Plus the Hemi Challenge.

Its the biggest race of the year.

I live 200 miles due west of Indy and the storm that rolled through here a few hours ago is headed that way. If they get it it will be a mess between 4-5" of rain.

Austin Williams won Stock Eliminator. He usually runs a 72 340 Duster. NHRA's entry list shows the Duster, but Drag Race Central says he was driving a 69 Camero. Does anyone know what he was really driving?.

The Stock Eliminator Final was quite a race, heads up two H/SA cars.
