Mechanical six pack budget build. - 08/21/19 11:38 PM

Hey guys and gals. I'm in the final building stage of my 440 six pack Challenger. I finally have the pieces parts together. I'm going with 3 2300 series carbs I've set up to work with my edelbrock six pack manifold. My center carb is a 300 CFM carb and my outboard carbs are 350cm carbs. I want to keep velocity at the carbs healthy so I chose something smaller than max cfm. I have been searching the forums and they have been very helpful. I'm pretty sure my carb choice is somewhat unique. I found the info below in the forum history. I'm looking for suggestions regarding jetting, squirters and PV specs for primary and outboard carbs in light of the smaller venturies.

Stock jetting on the center carb, List # 4782 is 64 jets with a power valve and #31 squirter, the outboards call for #82 jets with #28 squirters. Measure the vacume in gear at a idle ROM and use a power valve lower than what it idles in gear(1 to 3 inches)

TIA
Milan

I don't have the data, but compare your 2300 PVCR to the factory size. If same or slightly smaller I'd just try it out. If significantly smaller your WOT mixture may be lean enough to cause problems. Will you use an aftermarket plate with jets to replace the PVCR?
The PV vacuum rating must be low enough that you can't reach it at any cruising speed, but will kick in whenever you need passing or acceleration, regardless of the number. This means that the PV will vary based on axle ratio and car weight, your driving style, etc.

Yes. I have to disagree with your choice of using smaller carbs but on a mild 440 it will probably work fine. As for jetting tips. I jet as necessary. Someone will disagree with me and want to start arguing with me and I really don't want to deal with it.

But for starters, i would probably just throw 72 jets in the outboards and than jet as necessary. When I was running sixpacks, i may spend 5 hours laying black marks and making my neighbors crazy on a saturday.
