Machine Shops in N. County San Diego or S. OC - 07/26/19 07:26 PM

I'm looking for a recommendation on getting a pair of Edelbrock heads checked and prepped for service in either north San Diego County or south Orange County. Anyone ever use the machine shop at Paradise Motorsports in San Macros? Thanks!

I've only used Paradise to resurface a flywheel and they did a nice job. The machinist I worked with was knowledgeable and conscientious, which is what I look for the most. I'm assuming you just want to check valve guide clearance, valve springs & installed height, maybe flatness and the valve job? I'm sure they could handle what you need.

I had a set of Eddy heads milled to get some more compression ratio at a place in Mission Gorge area of San Diego called Wholesale Automotive Machine who did a balls-on-accurate job......I know because I measured everything before and after. Like most shops they have an old-timer who knows what you need, and a bunch of young guys who make me nervous.

IMM would be my first choice but with my schedule the only way I'd be able to drive out there is if they are open on Saturdays.

Greg would be my choice, I've used him before on a NHRA 340 stocker motor with excellent results up scope
He has built and raced Mopars almost as long as me grin whistling
I'm not a machinist either, just a assembler wrench

I’ll pretend I didn’t read that..... I prefer a decent excuse to skip a day of work!
