I Google motels in Rancho Cordova and saw a bunch but no way to tell how close to the track and how good they are,
I'm not looking for the cheapest or the most elaborate (expensive) rooms, some thing clean, reasonable and close to the track help
Thanks in advance thumbs

Hampton Inn Suites is very close and very clean, and about as safe as you can be.

Well looks like I get to defend my #2 spot on the Vegas list that Saturday not to mention I have a houseful of people here that week, and no class for me to race at the race in Sac. Best of luck to those of you going. Cool track and fun event in the past.

I am going to try and get out and knock the webs off, with Life stuff getting involved this year my car was last ran last August and I have started it twice since. There is no E class so I will maybe just make a few passes or zero out my box and tape it up for Pro, doubt they will let me do that but I would not be a threat bottom bulb racing anyway.... trust me. lol

Yes heard that as well Al, will go and make a few passes and see what's going on, been 5-6 years since I have been to this race and want to go run there/support the track. Plus hopefully give me an idea what I am going to do with this car.

Re: Mopar shootout Sacramento Speedway - 09/08/19 03:15 PM

Wow! has to be the best attended Mopar race I have been to at Sacramento!
Good time yesterday out and got to make a few passes. My slicks are in need of replacement so didn't expect much and my lights showed my rustiness but could have been the track as well as the line and track were pretty greasy as my 60' were off almost a 1/10th. My guess is they could have fielded a 8-12 car electronics class as it seemed quite a few "E" cars there, also got to talk to Cab for a bit and Tonys 68 dart.your car is incredible, very nice.

Couple more.... Also add really wish I would of talked the wife into going after telling her about all the Hellcats & couple of Demons on site as her daily is a 6 speed Hellcat, was cool seeing so many going down the track.

Re: Mopar shootout Sacramento Speedway - 09/09/19 03:20 AM

FWIW, any chance anybody got the number or more info they would share on that '69 two tone blue road runner race car for sale on the trailer in the swap area? Sort of interested in that one.

Thanks Keith

Re: Mopar shootout Sacramento Speedway - 09/09/19 04:45 AM

Thanks Keith! It was a great turnout, I didn’t get a chance to see much. I thought it would try to get a 9.40 or maybe a 9.30 by trying VP M5 methanol. I had a few tuning issues adjusting to that fuel. But, all in all, my dad was there with me and had a lot of help from friends I haven’t seen in a while, and came home in one piece, not a bad day - Tony

Re: Mopar shootout Sacramento Speedway - 09/09/19 06:49 AM

I was there directing traffic. LOts of race cars, spectators, swap sellers AND more show cars than I ever remember.
2017 show car count : 11
2018 show car count : 41
2019 show car count : 54
The credit for the increases goes to Randy Pike, Jake Rosen and a few others from the Capital City Mopars car club. They took over the publicity and promotion of this event. The owners of the race track should be kicking themselves for pissing away the opportunities they had to make this event a success in the past. Think of all the years that the race car count was down, the 5 or 6 people swapping parts, the mediocre show car turnout...THe owners have ignored the public as if they purposely wanted the track to fail. There were enough people walking throughout the pits and food stands to be considered a "crowd", a rare thing for this track in the years leading up to LAST year when Randy took over.

May have well been the track? My 60' were .08 slow as my two passes should have been in the teens but wasn't sure if the track or my tires are gone or a combination of both. Normal 60' with my Grid taking 2 seconds of timing out is 1.29 - 1.30, not the 1.36 and 1.381 shown above, still a fun day!

Re: Mopar shootout Sacramento Speedway - 09/09/19 04:12 PM

Glad to hear it was a great turn out. Randy has asked us to come the last two years but with no class for us to run it makes it difficult to make the tow, even though he offered us a chance to just make a few passes for fun. If this keeps up guess I am going to have to make the 11 hour trek up there. Even if ther eis no class to race in
