The number of passes before cracking at best is a guess. Most guys don't look at their stuff often enough to know when the fracture occurred. They either catch it when it's ready to blow, or after the bones are out.

Who knows, it may have cracked in 10 runs, or 30 but you don't find it until 150.

The biggest cause of cracking blocks I have encountered is usually a combination of heavy bob weight and excessive detonation - the detonation is usually due to the tuner either getting aggressive or just being stupid!

Then there is those rare occasions when they just plain break due to fatigue with no explanation... Go figure!

The B/RB was designed in the late 50s and I don't think Chrysler expected them to be pushed as hard as they have been.
Stock production blocks have all kinds of defects and who knows how many hours are on a block when you use one for a build.
This topic has come up many times and I think it was Monte that said with a stock block it's a crap shoot.
I don't push my stuff as hard as other guys, nor do I make as much power. I've got 3 extra 440 cores and 1 400, if it wasn't for that I would probably go Gen3.
