Anyone have a favorite brand of valve checking springs? I bought a Jegs set years ago, but they are too light to be consistent.

Shim them rascals 
A friend of mine use to work for a natural gas company in customer service, they would have to replace small springs in the meters every six to ten years and those springs worked great for checking springs
