275 ET Street Pros on 71 Duster - 03/19/19 10:53 PM

I bought a set of 275 /60/15 for my 71 Duster because they’re on sale but I don’t have rims yet. My car has the springs in the stock location and I’m slightly worried about them fitting. We’ve run 275/60/15 Cooper Cobras on a 73 Duster w 15x8 with 4.5bs and the were tight but they fit. Those tires list as a 10.7 section width while the ET Street pro lists as 11.4 section width. I’m just curious if anyone has run the Pros with stock location rear suspension, and what wheel combo they used.

I can't speak to if they'll fit, but I went from 275's to 275 Pros, and the pros were much wider.

fwiw, back in the day on my 71 Demon I ran a 28.x11.5 hoosier quick time pro (10" tread width) on a 8" weld draglite w 4.5 backspace. Springs in stock location and they fit, but not a ton of room..

That gives me hope that I can make them fit. The 11.5 QTP lists as a 11.2 section width.

I have the ET Street 275 on my 70, i used a 1/4 inch spacer to keep the tire off the spring

see what wheel the specs were based on. a slightly narrower wheel may pull the sidewall in a bit, allowing you to use that tire.

This is exactly what I’m hoping, they call for a 7.5-9.5 rim width according to Summit. The 73 340 duster we built had Cooper cobra 275/60/15s on an 8” rim with 4.5 B.S and the belly of the tire was 1/4-3/8” from the springs . I’m looking at running stock steel 15x7 Fifth Ave/ Diplomat wheels that have about 4-4 1/4 B.S. if all else fails I’ll move the perches on the 8 3/4 and buy the offset shackle Kit.

They should fit fine. I have them on a set of 15x8" rims with 3.5" back spacing and there's almost 1" of room between the tire and the leaf spring. This is on a 72 Duster, leaf springs in the stock location:
