"Moron pattern detected"

"Moron pattern detected" - 12/10/18 02:33 AM

I've been upgrading the brakes on my Dakota. In between wrong parts, damaged parts and mixups I am almost finished.
Well the new wheels would not fit right on the DS front hub. After much fitting and fighting, I measure the hub register and its spot on.

Then I realize the jack under the a-arm is in the way.
that is all

Don't worry. There will be a long winter to screw things up.

More on this at 10:00. lol
My day wasn't quite that bad , but I went to test fit a Chi Com fuel tank I bought on Amazon..........the fill cap wouldn't open.
And I tried right up the the " you're going to break it " threshold.
It goes back and I will buy a real one.
Then it was mock up Cal trac time and the " everything you need " spring , shock and bars kit didn't have U bolts.
The old ones were shot and off a 3 " tube ( I'm using a rear with 3 1/4" tubes ) , so I called Jeg's , who sent a message to Calvert and they will drop ship the correct ones on Monday.
I did successfully replace the cord on my Milwaukee angle grinder.......it only lasted 25 years.
I can't complain about that.

being able to step back and laugh at it is a big deal. Its been a long time but I thought I was the only one who did that. Whoever it was who said "experience allows you to make mistakes differently" was right....

So, you're saying it's not just me that does stuff like that? I am my own worst enemy sometimes... grin

If I manage to wake up and get out of bed in the morning, I'm sure someone would be able to detect a "Moron pattern" by following me around the rest of the day.

"Whoever it was who said "experience allows you to make mistakes differently" was right...."

lol

Thanks for that. Seems like there's some unknown law or ratio of ways to get it wrong to ways to get it right

I think leaving the rotor out of a distributor was my personal high point though.

I have two of everything because I usually have to do it twice to get it right!

And my dad always said "the difference between a professional and an amateur is the ability to hide your mistakes" up

Wait till some of you guys get old. I put my bifocals on and take them off so many times in my he shop that I probably have 20 pairs laying around. And that’s just in my shop. I buy them by the 5 Pac at my local pharmacy

Re: "Moron pattern detected" - 12/11/18 04:09 AM

yes I will have to agree.
First I go to get the race car out of the trailer to pull the engine for winter freshen, and the oil pan had sprung a leak so I had 8 quarts of 20-50 racing oil on the floor. Two bags of oil dry, and a gallon of purple power cleaner, trying to hose out the floor and it got cold enough that it froze to ice and I busted myself in the trailer. Hear a loud hissing from the shop and a popping noise, the pressure switch had stuck on the air compressor and the relief valve was blowing off. Got an email from a supplier with a tracking number for a set of door panels, and they shipped them to Australia instead of Missouri.

just don't let your "best" friend fix your favorite pair when they get "slightly bent out of shape".
he fixed mine sunday, and they fit good ....... till i took them off.
they promptly fell apart at the arm screw.
seems the screw broke IN the arm, leaving the head of the screw and the thread tail, stuck in the main frame.
and to think i paid $1.00 for those glasses ! now i'll hafta spend an hour or so, digging out the screw parts and replacing the screw.

Lol...I bought safety glasses with readers built in because they stay on my head better...nothing more frustrating than having readers slide down your sweaty nose, bounce off your arms because your hands are full and the splatter on the shop floor...all while you helplessly watch...in slow motion mad laugh2
