Top Fuel Engine Parts

Other than TV and Youtube I've never seen any TF motor parts up close so an acquaintance of mine is visiting Jeff Diehl's shop and they gave him a used rod/piston assembly as a souvenir; I couldn't believe how heavy this thing is. Just weighed it and it's 4 lbs. 14 oz. Lot of weight swinging out there at 8500 RPM.

That one piston / rod has to support about 1,500 horsepower. Even though it only turns about 500 revolutions under power before it gets thrown away, it's got to be stout!

yep... pretty impressive piston thickness too, if the height above the top ring land is any indication!
