Some body misinformed you on Dart not having their own aluminum hemi head castings, it wouldn't surprise me that they had more than one dual plug casting number heads also shruggy scope
I assembled a blown street hemi motor for a customer in SO CA back in the mid 1990s that had a set of those heads, his family owned several Dodge dealerships and furnished all the parts, he bought those heads form Direct Connection along with a KB street hemi block shruggy

I assume you mean 433 heads? AKA twin plug heads, AKA replacement heads, AKA Ross Foundry heads. Mullens was a head porting shop. They ported most of the top hemi heads for a long time. I feel you will make more power with the heads they make today.

hemi -itis,same heads as mine, has total flow on them, after i look them up,says dart made them, thats what i have, but on my header flange can only get 4 bolts to line up in them,im sure its a old fuel heads, they work though ,there not like the 433 heads

One set of heads I've used from Dart where the D4 heads, I was not impress with the results on that motor with those heads down
I don't remember the casting numbers now, sorry blush

I was able to port the large header flange to make them work. The exaust port only uses half of the port on the flanges. They also showed a little daylight on the top of the port flang requiring adding some material on the exterior top of the tube to flange. Not sure if it effects my performance but I have to work with what I have. As much as I would like a new set of headers it's just not in the very limited budget.
I do have an issue getting the flanges to seal well on the heads.

The D-4 heads were cast iron, raised exhaust port and for NASCAR racing. I think the nitro monkeys used them in the 1970s as well.

I was told by the owner that they where D-4 heads confused, They were aluminum and had a raised exhaust port that was about half the size of a street hemi exhaust port. I wonder if they could have been the later D6 heads for Pro Stock? confused His family owned several Chrysler, Dodge and Plymouth dealer ships in SO CA in the 1960s up to 2000 or so shruggy
I got lucky to be picked to assemble and dyno test that motor wrench grin

Re: 426 hemi dual plug heads p4120960 - 01/08/20 02:50 AM

Could have been D-6's. They look like D-4's but are aluminum and have twin plugs. Or they could have been Darts like you first spoke of, that had been ported to D-4 specs. That was a popular exhaust port at the time.

I think the D-6 head was an aluminum version of the D-4 head. The D-6 had dual plugs as best I can remember. I've attached a photo from a magazine article on the Missile development.
