Will stock valve covers fit on Indy 440-1 heads?

The Indy brochure says they fit on Sr’s but has anybody ever tried them on the 440-1?
If not, where is the problem? the shape of the mating flange or height or ?

I have MoPar Performance valve covers on my -1 heads

I'm going to use 440source covers on my B1 engine

Stock VC's will work.

Gasket pattern is stock, and for the most part, yes, stock valve covers will work. Depending on valve lift and rocker design, I would be checking clearances for rockers and shaft hold downs. How stock are you talking? OE valve covers or aftermarket replacements? I've had Milodon stamped aluminum valve covers that needed massaging fitting my shaft hold downs and Harland Sharps on 915 heads.

Sometimes you need to space the stock one,but depending on the look you want these fab covers are real cheap,I bought a set of polished fab covers for $130

I purchased OEM repro stock covers a few months ago as going back to stock appearing was/kinda is my goal, then I got thinking what if I find a good buy on a set of 440-1’s at a swap meet or something and decide to change my direction- hence the question. Yeah I know, stock appearing and Indy heads don’t go together but I needed a answer to my late night random thought.

Depends on how "stock" you want the engine to look.

Yeah, sorta like that. For this car I’ll probably stick a little closer to stock appearing then what I’ve done in the past (like your pic) but I will likely try hide some heads. Are those, ez’s, sr’s, 440-1’s?

They are SR heads.

Now that is cool! I like how you even painted the meziere water pump to blend w the rest. Sneaky and I like it!

Bondo up the Indy logo and paint it all. These are Indy covers. Though this is to racey you can get the idea.

Cheapy from Summit. It was the cheapest one I could find. As I Remember it was around $30. 6 years no leaks.
