Need some help wipers - 07/13/18 05:25 PM

Need some help wiring a 3 speed wiper motor to a variable speed switch 2770378 on my pro street valiant I am building. It will be a direct wire from wiper motor to switch. I'll try and post some pics if I can remember how

You might see if you can find a model/year, its wiring diagram on www.mymopar.com

I have a diagram, unfortunately it does not say where the wires go on the switch. I want them to go directly from the wiper motor to the switch bypassing all the factory crap.

Is Jules the wiper man still around? I know he would help me. I asked JSrestorations, he refused to help. Something about liability, and that's ok guess who won't get any of my business..

Find the wiring diagram for one of the Mopars around your year for one with the 3 speed wipers. All the 3 speed wipers on Mopars I worked on use a shunt field to control speed along with some resisters built into the wiper switch to add and remove resistance in the shunt winding of the motor. I am sure I have one of my factory manuals with the wiring you need. If you cant get the wiring to easy PM me and I can take pics of the wiper wiring in one of my manuals for you and send them to you. Ron

I have the diagram, it does not show the wires coming from the terminals on the switch to the wipers

With a variable switch you want to find the High speed hot wire, witch I think is the brown wire. Feed that from your pos. of your variable control.

That's the easy part. The tricky part is getting the Wipers to Stop in their Parked position. But maybe you don't care about that. You can always shut them Off in the parked position by turning the variable switch off at the desired time.

Yea I did that, I would like them to work correctly. Jules told me how years ago but I lost his email

So, are you using a variable switch with a 3 speed motor? From what I could find, it seems like the switch has the same output continuity, but to act as a 3 speed, it needs a resistance wire in the harness for "medium", and an added resistor at the switch for "high"?

thanks that's more info than I have found. I actually got it to run high speed the switch seems to have a resistor built in. i'll read this over and check the switch.

Re: Need some help wipers - 07/16/18 01:00 AM

here is what I have, the terminals on the switch are labeled :
A
B
P
W
F1
F2
B1
4 WIRES COMING OUT OF THE WIPER MOTOR
RED
BROWN
BLUE
LT GREEN
I have tried many different combinations, I have got high speed, made it do low speed and even rest. but not with all the wires hooked up. what I need is the right combination to the proper terminals so they work as they should.

i have a 69 service manual that has a b c body. all wiring with variable wipers appear to be the same- it is as follows: b goes to ign switch acc. p goes to blue wire on w/s/w motor. f2 goes to green an w/s/w motor. A goes to brown on w/s/w motor. f1 goes to red on w/s/w motor. 2 terminals are jumpered to A as switch has resistance cable and remaining wire goes to washer motor. or u can hook it up with nozzles to spray water on tires like early camaros had. Haha. if u want a pic pm me and i will send pics of them. i dont know how to load pics into puter. i can sent anyone pics. just too old to learn this puter stuff. haha.
