360 #5 main cap seal question

On main 5 there are these two black seals, 1 has a white paint mark on it. Can somebody school me on the proper way to install them? They go on the left and right side, im not talking about the rear main. The engine is a 1978 cast 360 block. Thanks

those are for a /6 & since it uses the same rear main half moon halves as a SB it is cheaper for the mfr to include em rather than haveing 2 seperate pkgs/part #'s/paperwork. I would lay some silicone in those 2 small grooves that go out sideways in the cap.
