NHRA is going to VMP to replace the event lost at Raceway Park. Sweet!

Was there the 1st yr they were opened and hosted the big boys. I was very impressed with the track then.

And the divisional went to Numidia

Been awhile, but I liked Numidia. And pierogies. Only, it seemed like I lost a bunch of horsepower up on that hill.

Raceway Park and Dinwiddie are the same drive time for me. I like RP, didn't like driving there or being in Joisey. So, I'm OK with this.

The DiMinos are great folks for sure. You hear nothing but good things about them and their track.

Man this is great news. I raced there at the st Patrick Day race in 2015 and hope to race there again. Should be a lot less race cars stolen at this race.

Yeah, well there's that too. Just stay out of Petersburg and Richmond City.

Didn't they try this before?

So leave Richmond and drive 4 hours down the road to Bristol for the next weeks race. Should be able to get your fill of T/F and F/C in 2 weeks to hold you over for all year.

They had NHRA events there in the late 90s. Then they went to IHRA for a while when IHRA offered the management a pie in the sky. Back to NHRA now.

They had water problems there in the old days. I think that has been resolved. I like the place. With new ownership, it should do well. Does that help?

The only thing I didn’t like about the track was being stacked up under the tower. A pair of cars staging, two in the water, and I was pulled up under the tower. Man did my windshield get hit hard by a rock. At Keystone we aren’t pulled around the bend till burnouts are ending

I hope you guy's come down this year. That was great news to have a national event back close to home. I was there for the first ones and think it will be good for the area and NHRA too. New owners at the track "the Franklins" I think.. And They race too.

Englishtown and some other places are the same way. We went to those places a couple times a year and I ended up putting an air cleaner inside the scoop. Didn't slow the car down. Might have picked it up a touch. Cylinder walls looked better at the end of the year too. Never ran without it once I put it on.

Yes, Tommy Franklin of PDRA Pro Nitrous fame bought the track late last year with some other folks I believe.
