Question On Oiling - 12/24/17 02:19 AM

I'm looking for a set of SB flat tappet lifters
with push rod oiling.. I see that Comp Cams
has a 2901-16 solid but I am wondering if it
works with push rod oiling.. I'm new to this
NON roller stuff.. last time I used a flat
tappet cam was in the early 70s... thanks for
the help

AMC lifters are the ones that oil thru the lifter/pushrod.

Be aware that the pushrod seat of the AMC lifters is higher then the mopar lifter....

Re: Question On Oiling - 12/24/17 03:50 PM

The CC site says yes they both oil & 1.79" seat hite on the Mopar/AMC one & 1.63" on the std SB Mopar one. If they are the same ex for the hite (at least from the descrip it sounds like they are) then I would mockup with a junk lifter with the cup at those heights (I JB welded a hyd one for checking) & Hughes offers an adjustable one for checking (He may rent it out) & see which one gives the best valvetrain geometry. EDIT & I set (JBweld) the cup hite at whatever preload my setup has during mockup, maybe a bit OCD there but its my meticulousness

Check out the lifters on Hughes web site, they are oil through, plus they have the edm hole, they were the ones I was going to run with my w9's, but I went 48' roller
