Need a recommendation for shocks

Front shocks right now are some really tight konis (actually made for a 65 gto but they fit). they are really tight and they hold the road great. I really like them for running down the roads.

But as they are really tight, i launch flat and have pretty much no lift in the front. my 60' times suck at 1.83 and i want to improve that.

But its a dual purpose car and I really like those back roads so cornering is still important.

Is there an adjustable shock (thats not to hard to adjust) that i can use on my STOCK bodied sb cuda that I could adjust quickly for the track and then readjust for the rest of my travels?

I need to be a bit quicker.

I will assume that the koni's are a non-adjustable,
what you need is a good adjustable that is re-buildable
so you can change the valving in so you can get the
road and track correct with the turn of the knob.
Problem is, thats hard to do, to get a road race shock
and a drag shock... but take a look at Afco's, Qa1

I just looked at the double adjust QA-1's, the stocker stars or whatever they are called and MAN, those looks like awesome shocks.

EXPENSIVE, but fully adjustable. I talked to the guys at QA-1 motorsports and they convinced me that these are the shocks I need. they are the Brawndo of shocks, it appears.

But man, are they expensive.

So before I break into my piggy bank, whats the word on the street about these?

Are they worth it? do they last? I know they are rebuildable but what do they charge for that? i wouldnt consider them if I had to spend $200 every 2 years to freshen them up OR if they wear out so fast that my preferred setting was always changing to adjust for wear. I'd like to set em at a street setting and a race setting, know what that setting was so I could click click click them back and forth without having to make constant adjustments for wear. (i guess i could ask them but real world experience is better than salesman puffing)

mind you, the car sees 3000 miles a year maybe

oh ya, and i also looked at the Strange double adjustables and they look great too. and a little cheaper. Are these as good or better? it might be a better choice for me. wonder how their customer service is today??

I put the single adj stockers on my car wish I put the double adj. QA1 makes nice stuff.

wow, found the the double adj strange shocks at a place called autofabracecars for $224 a piece. thats cheaper than the $249.95 everyone else is selling them for.


btw, just to report, I had a very nice and informative discussion about the shocks with one of the tech guys at Strange just now. VERY good customer service report.

Calvert ft. shocks.......Best shocks I`ve run for the price at a bit over $100.00.
