I have no idea how old these slicks are they are Firestone's the have been in my garage for the last 4-5 years the tread looks nice the sidewalls look good would you gamble a few shakedown runs on them or not.
I know I need new tires but it should be running this weekend just thinking about getting a couple passes on them but?

if they say firestone on them they are probably older than you are
I don't think I would make a full pass on them right away but I don't see any harm in doing a few burnouts and launches. then maybe a 330 pass or something.
they cant be very old then cause I'm a spring chicken
Depending on how fast the car is, burnout, Maybe make a couple half track passes, If they still look ok in your opinion after that, its all you. Your life, your car, you make the call. I know there hasn't been a slick made in quite a few year now that has firestone on it, they have been called pheonix for awhile.
Im thinking more of a few burn outs some launch's just to see if it goes strait no full out passes.

not worth the waste of time a street tire probably has more bite get a good (NEW PAIR) of slicks
I plan on it as soon as I have a spare 600.00 to shell out. But if I have it running this weekend I dont know if I have enough in me not to take it out and beat on it a little
belts are in I have a helmet but those that be say its no good just because its to old like it went bad sitting on a shelf or something bunch of morons but that's another thread
no jacket yet but I can do some shakedown at a track that does not care so and you know me I damn sure don't
don't need jacket till 11.49
Heck friend has a pair of JC Penney cheaters that still hooked good a couple of years ago.
Depending on how quick the car is whether I would give them a shot at a full pass.
O/T a little, what size tire are you using?
the tire on the car is a 33.5x15x15 when I get a new set I will drop down to a 31x14x15 I set the car up with these so I knew I would have plenty of room for the other.
