Hemi builder in the midwest

Hemi builder in the midwest - 05/01/17 11:26 PM

Living in the great white north (MN) I am looking for suggestions regarding a builder in the tri state area that can put together a 572 hemi. I have a new 4.5 bore mopar block so will need most everything else to have a complete engine. Looking for a street motor with 700-750 HP that is anvil reliable. As with anything else price is a consideration and I would rather be able to take and retrieve the finished product without the hassle of shipping. Opinions/suggestions appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Off the top of my head. Wheeler racing engines/dyno services in Blaine. Chuck lofgren/Ktre in East Bethel. Northern cylinder head in Andover. Sharadon performance in Hugo. R&R in spring lake park. Magnum superchargers in Cedar or Oak Grove.
Northern cylinder head
wheeler
ktre
sharadon
r&r
magnum superchargers

Most of these shops aren't mopar specific but who cares. I've had good service with Northern who fixed my indy heads and made them flow nice and wheeler just did my machine work. I've talked with chuck many times about transmission tech and some engine stuff. Heard nothing but good about sharadon. They were friendly when I stopped by cuz I spotted cool rides out front.

tsk So ya think just any competent (and generic) shop can spec and build a big inch Hemi with no drama.

The OP can take that advise if he wants to, but he would be much better off to go with an experienced Hemi builder.

lol not saying that. They do chevy and ford and mopar wedge stuff and have done hemi's but arent "mopar specialist". As always talk to a few builders and make a choice. After saying "most of those shops" I added a few who love mopars. Lofgren does lots of hemi stuff as has sharadon and wheeler.

Call Larry at Napa in Carroll Iowa. Don't be fooled by the Napa name. He's part owner in a Napa store, and he has a state of the Art machine shop. Yes he knows hemi's. 712-792-4381

My cruising buddy had his 392 rebuilt by Tony Bischoff @ BES. 11 years later, it is still going strong.
