Procharger on a Gen 2 Hemi?

Procharger on a Gen 2 Hemi? - 02/24/17 04:34 AM

Thinking about doing a Procharger on my Hemi build but would like to stay with a belt drive system.
Has anyone here installed a kit on there motor?
Would like to see some pictures so I have an idea of what I'd need to do it and what size procharger did you use?

Thanks for any and all info

I seen one on a street driven Barracuda a number of years ago. Of course the owner said it was fast, what else would he say , LOL I'd also like to hear about that set up.

Hey Rich
Have you done any with EFI?

Five so far. Much easier with EFI. The carb motor in the pic was very sensitive to the intake elbow. I ended up not using what's in the photo. BTW, I kept the displacement down because of the small blower size. It all had to fit ... lol.

What would you use with a motor that 600ci?
I'd like to be able to be competitive in a class at Brainerd International Raceway in Minnesota.
The class is king of the street but I'd still like to be able to go to the local car show once or twice with my car.
Plus you need to complete a 10 mile drive to be able to compete in the class

Curious also.

For that many cubes you'd need an F2 or an F3R. Streetability comes from the tune and I have seen several F2 customers drive their cars on the street without problems. Of course this was with EFI and I admit, I'm biased... LOL
One guy runs gas on the street and switches over to methanol for the track.

Ok and since this a new build car and motor I was planning on EFI from the start.
So what size F2 or F3 might fit under a carbonfiber hood

I can't help you with that. Every installation is different and these larger superchargers are tough to fit in a stock hood configuration. Talk to Procharger and see what they say.

I know its not a Hemi but on my small block I could keep everything under a flat hood. I used a 90 degree elbow from 6061.com to mount my throttle body to. I had to have an inch machined off the top of my Indy intake to get everything to work. I could also fit my F2 side slinger in the engine bay with the stock inner fenders. On a Hemi I'm not sure since they are so much wider. A F2 isn't really that much bigger in size then a F1R.

Used to be ATI's brackets were not strong enough, must either make new from heavy plate stock or add doubler plates.

Kevin
I run a F2 on my 440, it's a cog drive sideslinger, the F3 would be gear drive due to it's size. I run a 950 blow thru non intercooled but have AIS meth injection. My inner fenders are long gone and I have to use a lift off six pack hood cause of the clearance issues.I drive it on the street and run it at the track.

Would you have pictures of your engine bay.
I'd like to see how the F2 fit and maybe give me some ideas

If it is yours it doesn't look like the inner fender will need a lot of work to fit a Procharger

Kevin
Oh ya beautiful car

Every time I try to post pictures it never works for me, I'll try and figure it out today.
What I'm building is a 1970 Plymouth GTX 25.3 chassis all stock floors, 604ci hemi, KB block, stage 5 millennium heads, Callie's crank, T400 trans, Dana 60 rear end.
All steel except hood and front end all acid dipped and the list goes on.

Just a little angle cut on the front edge of the rails for the rad, its 31 inches wide. Inner fenders were fine and top of rad support was removed for easier engine removal.
