Her disclaimer "I'm not a [censored]" would be easier to accept if she were to explain exactly how she forgot her underwear so frequently.

Saw here "performance" at many of the Midwest tracks, including US30, Rockford, Da Grove, Martin Mi. I'm A little older than you big D, but she instilled that excitement in just about all ages. The "Jungle Jim show" packed them in.

Can you imagine the liberals if something like her show were to happen today?

Ya' just got to bill it as a Women's Rights protest, like the ones who walked around topless in NYC (don't recall what they were protesting, either). grin

Jungle Jim was the ultimate showman and "Jungle Pam" was part of that show. He knew what to do to capitalize and she is as much a part of him being a legend as he is. She also wasn't the only one out there in go-go boots and no bra. Barbara Coil(Austins wife) and Shirl Greer's wives did the same thing. The Hustler was known as much for Coil's wife, as it was 1/8 mile burnouts. Greer's wife serviced the clutch AND went out to look hot. These guys knew drag racing was a "show" and not so much a business. You think Linda was out there riding in a Cutlass with her boobs hanging out to sell shifters, or be a show. It was the show and it was good. Several dragster teams had ALL girls in hot pants and go-go boots that would go out and push the cars back before reversers came along.

Hot "back up girls" are......well, HOT and there should be more of that today. You still see it but not enough. Pretty common at the Hot Rod Reunion in Bowling Green. Plenty of them out there these days, they just may not be sporting go-go boots

Very cool video. I agree w/ her about the corporate stick needing to be removed, lol. They were before my time (I'm 36), but I imagine the whole match race thing was fun to see.

Too bad we cant get tracks to sponsor match racing like that again...NHRA would probably blow a gasket...

I remember Jim Liberman driving one of the early blown 1964 or 1965 Pontiac GTO match racer at the old Fontana Drag City. I ask him why it had a Chrysler 392 Hemi in the car and he said that is NOT a Chrysler 392 runaway It is a Pontiac motor with M/T Hemi heads on it, It probably was, their both ten head bolt motors shruggy
The next time I saw him was at either Orange County at the Coke a Cola 64 car funny car show or up at Fremont at a Division 7 race, I loved seeing Jungle Pam with her loose knit white top on with no Bra devil whistling I knew guys that made their living match racing, living out of the tow rig and eating in restaurants gets old real quick down Some of the old Funny Car match racers could race 3 to 6 times a week back east at different tracks every race work
Keep in mind this was in the day of 1 ton dually four door pickups towing a 34 to 40 ft. Chaperal goose neck trailer, no big diesel tractor rigs with big nice trailer with living quarters in them and a big bus motor home to live in on the road shruggy

cab, funny you should mention those M/T hemi heads. i recently read an article on thompson, and there was a little about his hemi head development for the 389 motor. it was interesting. he also sawed a 389 in half, creating a four cylinder engine. a hemi head was installed on that and raced at bonneville. i can't recall where i read that. i'll have to look. it wasn't the first time i read about his hemi head work on the pontiac engine[s].
