I remember Jim Liberman driving one of the early blown 1964 or 1965 Pontiac GTO match racer at the old Fontana Drag City. I ask him why it had a Chrysler 392 Hemi in the car and he said that is NOT a Chrysler 392
It is a Pontiac motor with M/T Hemi heads on it, It probably was, their both ten head bolt motors
The next time I saw him was at either Orange County at the Coke a Cola 64 car funny car show or up at Fremont at a Division 7 race, I loved seeing Jungle Pam with her loose knit white top on with no Bra
I knew guys that made their living match racing, living out of the tow rig and eating in restaurants gets old real quick
Some of the old Funny Car match racers could race 3 to 6 times a week back east at different tracks every race
Keep in mind this was in the day of 1 ton dually four door pickups towing a 34 to 40 ft. Chaperal goose neck trailer, no big diesel tractor rigs with big nice trailer with living quarters in them and a big bus motor home to live in on the road
