I think the studs on the mains is 95# torque, on the 7/16 rods get 63#or 55# it has the ARP stuff. Can anyone help I thought the head studs on the Eddys got 70#.

What brand fasteners are you using?

I believe he has ARP studs and stuff but will
be using oil.. same as I do

I use 30w oil, I bought the 440 source 512 kit in 09' and use studs both main&head. Even studded the water pump housing.

That chart is for use with ARP lube, not oil as stated that he use's. Oil will take a lesser torque. I use the ARP lube for assembly, haven't used oil in 20 years.

I'll just put this here for a guess-ta-ment but you know the proper way this should be done.

Ya I just had that one saved. Head bolts and main studs are usually real easy to find. Some heads (ex Stealth heads) have their own suggested torque spec.

I thought I remembered 63# on them rods. I wanted to think 110# on the mains with APR lube. But with 30w oil 95#. I wrote it down but lost it from 2009.

I been racing the super summit races at Gulfport, in the yellow 23'Alter last year. Broke a roller lifter in the Duster in the KOC race year before last. We was racing good in that car. I have a good picture of the yellow car but don't know how to put it on here.

I think you have those numbers backwards, less torque with ARP lube and more torque with oil I'll look in my shop in the morning for that ARP part # spec sheet and post it on here tomorrow

I think your right Cab, less torque with ARP assembly lube. First time being wrong. LOL I just read the torque numbers supplied by ARP. I did have at one time the torque numbers for assembly lube, oil and I think dry for different size fasteners.

OK, I got the APR lobe, 63f/p on the rods, the mains get 55/75/90 some say 100# I will go 95# with the lobe.

I thought it was critical to assemble/torque to the same values that the parts were machined/torqued to including what lube was used. At Pettis if it was machined/torqued w/ARP lube at x amount of torque, then that's where it needs to be..........I know Jason said the ARP lube had changed over the years and found a few issues w/it but now landed on the stuff they like best...............

I found my copys of the ARP instructions, 1/2 inch main same as listed above.
ARP head stud kits list 80 ft. Lbs. with ARP Ultra Torque lube in three equal steps? 80 divided by 3=26.66666
I have the instructions for their BB Mopar head bolt kit with thier old lube and it shows to use 65 ft. lbs. with thier old ARP Moly Assembly lube or thread sealer and 85 Ft.Lbs. with 30 wt oil
On the rod bolts I use a stretch gauge and write down the average torque needed with the ARP lube needed to get to the middle strech specs., if one or more stretch longer than the average I throw them away and replace them with ones that meet the needed average torqe required to match the rest
