Strange 12 Bolt drop out centre section - 12/21/16 07:01 AM

Has anyone used one of the Strange Eng 12 bolt centres that drop into a 9" housing? I've only really seen them in Comp eliminator cars, just curious if anyone has used one?

The NHRA SS/AH cars use to run them until they started making their cars powerful enough to break them on almost every run shruggy work scope
I'm not sure what they use now confused shruggy

Comp cars are a different breed. Most are small displacement high winding combinations to keep the weight down. They don't need the brute strength of a 9" or 9.5" rear so the 12 bolt offers less drag, less weight and many gear ratio options.

I have had one in my 3600 lb. Challenger for 10 years. 4.30 pro gear. Lots of 1.30 launches. Has run some 9.20's. Currently driving on the street on drag radials, but can still knock out a 1.40 on a good track. It's been perfect.

It was a long shot Mike, plus a bit of a pot stir!
